Joseph Jun-hee Kahn, 43, was born Ahn Jun-hee in Pusan, South Korea in 1972. His family spent part of his childhood there and in Livorno, Italy until moving to Houston, Texas.
In the Nineties, Joseph attended New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, but dropped out in order to direct. After directing dozens of low-budget videos where he was editor, cinematographer, and p.d on his own work, in 1995 he was signed to Visages Films, then-home of Herb Ritts.
Kahn became a sought-after director in quick succession, and has gone on to direct videos for almost all of the world's big acts in the 1990's and on for the likes of Public Enemy, Britney Spears, Destiny's Child, Christina Aguilera, Wu-Tang Clan, Eminem, Moby, Janet, and 30+ CMA artists.
He's done three movies so far: the 2004 mega-action flick Torque, the 2011 mock-horror film Detention, and 2017's Bodied.
Joseph currently lives in Los Angeles.
